How to add the materials which not exist in the materials library

Hello everyone,

I am doing the simulation of hydrogen storage tank, and the filled material is LaNi5, the geometry and mesh are done, the next step is setup, but I don't know how to set the geometry material to LaNi5 and the inlet to hydrogen, therefore, can anyone show me how to add the material to the geometry, by the way, this kind of material is not the library of materials. Thank you very much and I am hoping to listen from you.:)

What are you trying to model? What are you trying to learn from the simulation? How to set the model up depends on what you are trying to model.

I am trying to simulate the hydrogen tank, and the model is done, but I don't know how to add the material to the model, thx

But are you modelling heat transfer? The flow of hydrogen? The chemical reaction? FSI? CHT? I have no idea what you are actually modelling.

Hi ghorrocks, sorry for the late reply, I am trying to model a hydrogen storage tank filled with LaNi5, actually it is a cylindrical modelling, with 5 coolants, and the hydrogen will be filled through the central orifice under a constant pressure of 10 bar, but there is no outlet for the hydrogen gas, the hydrogen will be reacted with the metal, is that possible to achieve through the CFX? Thx

BTW, can I set the metal as the porous medium to react with hydrogen? Through the tutorial of CFX, it seems like that there is no reaction in the porous medium, thx
