Flow uniformity index

Hi,
I would like to calculate the flow uniformity index gamma to check the flow distribution at specific surfaces or the flow distribution at the domains outlet.
va=areaAve(Velocity)@plane
a=area()@plane
gamma=1-0.5*(sum(Velocity-va)@plane) /a*va
How can I define local area cell?
