meshbiuld for particulate flow

Hi, I am currently involved in a project for developing a technique for analysis of fluid flow activity in the near-wall region of the open channel flow. This would include an attempt to characterise the flow of particulates in a fullly developed turbulent channel flow using hot-wire anemometry . The results will be validated by CFD namely the CFD-4.3. I would like anyone to comment on the following.

1. What is the experience of using CFD techniques for validation of experimental methods in turbulent flow studies?Who is involved in this research curently. 2. Which turbulent model could be recommended to get a reliable solver. 3. Please comment on any information which you think will be of any assistance in the areas mentioned above.

Thanks.
