Re: OIL-Combustion

Hi Zhang:

Are you interested in oil spray combustion ?

If so, CFX-Tascflow has combustion models that can be used in combination with its particle tracking module to simulate the heating and evaporation of the oil droplet -- volatile fractions evaporate and are burned in the gas phase. The resulting combustion reactions can be simulated with either an Eddy-Dissipation model (with simplified user specified reactions and kinetics) or with a flamelet/flamefront model for more advanced kinetics.

Similar models should be available in the CFX5 product in the future.

Hope this helps,

Judy
