Hi
I have two Questions for slug flow simulation in pipes: 1. It is a homogeneous or inhomogeneous simulation? 2. For the Air fluid which of these must be chosen (Air or Ideal Air)? |

1) I would say homogeneous, as air and fluid will have the same velocity
2) Air at ... C, if you assume the air at low velocity and therefore incompressible (I would suggest this, as free surface and compressible flow you might have issues). |

1) I think a more general answer is: If you intend to directly model the air slugs and resolve its detailed shape then this is a homogeneous model. If you intend to model the slugs as a dispersed eularian phase then inhomogeneous. Which approach is better will depend on what you are trying to do.
Also: I have deleted your duplicate post on this topic. One thread on this question is all which is required. |
