Generate a single wave that will dissipate as it travels

Hello, fellows

I am trying to generate a single wave (not a group of waves) in 2D CFX.

I think I have set up all the boundary conditions correctly and I was able to generate a single wave using a CEL expression.

But the problem is that the wave doesn't disappear (it travels to the other end)
I believe the wave must mitigate as it goes along the distance.

Do you have any idea/thoughts to generate such wave?
(should I use damping equation or something that will make the wave disappear?)

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

When I look at the ocean I see waves which travel for a very, very long distance so clearly they are very low dissipation and go a long way.

So if your case has the waves dissipating then something is causing it - it could be viscosity, or shallow water, or many other things. So if something is causing the dissipation then you should put that something in your model and it will show dissipation as well.
