Wind effect on water

Can I model (and how) the wind effects on a surface water of an open sedimentation tank? Can I also see the wind effects on the sedimentation process?

What effects are you talking about? If you mean the generation of surface waves, then yes, if you use a free surface model you should be able to get surface waves.

thanks for ur response, I am going to see how wind could effect sedimentation in a open channel flow. it means how surface tension made by wind could effect streamlines. and in conclusion how could effect sedimentation.

Surface tension is not made by wind. For most cases surface tension does not significantly contribute to flows like this. The surface waves are caused by the shear of the wind flow over the liquid which moves the liquid and forms waves. Surface tension does not come into it.

Also: What sedimentation model are you using? I was not aware CFX had a sedimentation model.
