Dear Folks
I'd like to see pressure propagation in the water, so I am therefore trying to put pressure as an input at the inlet, which will propagate to the other end(outlet). Do you guys have any thought/idea to simulate this? Thank you Kind regards |

You are looking for a pressure wave propagation?
Yes, its fine to do this with a compressible fluid, but not incompressible. You will have to include the compressibility of water in your material properties. Look up speed of sound and see what the equation looks like: sqrt(stiffness/density) Also you need to use the speed of sound to calculate your courant number (or CFL number) not velocity. So it will require very small timesteps relative to normal transient simulations. |
