How to store my own information to a USER SCALAR?

My dear friends:

I met a problem: I want to define a USER SCALAR, whose results can be displayed by CFX-View. The scalar is a function of velocity and temperature, not solved by transport equation. From the manual, I find that if I rename the varible to the special name beginning with USRD, then I can store arbitrary information for it in the dump file. But how can I manage to do it?

Thanks very much!

Two options:

- Use CFX-analyse instead of CFX-View. Use the calculator, calculate the scalar as a function of your variables, and plot the scalar.

- Userfortran. 1) Define you scalar in the command file, USRD SCALAR.... 2) Retrieve usrdmp. 3)Fill an array with the values you need. How to do it exactly, you can read it in the manual, chapter 10. Make sure you get the right scalar using GETSCA.

Have fun, Astrid
