# how to make hole in a solid in CFX-Build

 November 8, 2001, 03:26 Re: how to make hole in a solid in CFX-Build #3 Herve Guest   Posts: n/a In CFX-4 you can create the "hole" as a solid that isn't included in the volume meshing, or simpliny leave a hole in the multiblock structure. In CFX-5, same thing really: create a b-rep solid exluding the hole surfaces, or cretae two solids, one for the entire geometry and one for the hole, and have a cutout solid in you domain definition. All of this I'm sure is shown in the tutorials. If you require more training, CFX also offers courses and one-to-one days to accompany you along your project set up...

For CFX-5, create the surfaces which bound your solid (ie four flat surfaces, two trimmed surfaces with holes cut through them, and a cylinder). These surfaces may be combine into a Boundary Represented Solid (B-Rep). Regards, Robin
