How can i define a inlet in a solid?

Hi!everyone!I want to define a inlet in a solid. At first,i defined it directly in the solid, but when i ran the solver,i got the massage as:...the inlet does not contain a solid. How can i define a inlet in a solid? waiting for your help! thanks!

i don't think it is plausible to define inlet in a solid ... how flow could be into the solid ...

Hi, arjun s y,thanks again!

As you know,i'm working on a project about the two phases fluid of air-liquid.And the inlet of the air phase is at the bottom of the model(not under),so i must define a inlet in the model. But the size of the model is so different that it is not a good ideal to creat a solid directly in the model(¦Õ50-82000)(If you creat a solid in the model in bulid, and then delete it ,you can creat a patch ,the type is inlet or outlet,on it). Therefore i want to define a inlet directly in the model. What should i do?

By the way ,may you give me the answer of last time, a question about multi phases?

Thank you !

Dear Haribort, Ur question is very strange, why u want to do a inlet in a solid? Do u think where the inlet come from? Best regards Sincerely yours LI Xinfeng

If I'm getting it right - you mean solid as a object in build (block of geometry) and not a solid like the table or a piece of iron. Then - have a close look to the definition of your boundary condition. the inlet must be defined on the edge of the geometry - not inside, so one of I,J or K must be 1. You can check it in build, ( if using CFX4 is geo file or using analyse to see the position of you8r inlet bc. I think you got the message because you have got the wrong position of your BC or it has not properly defined physical patrameters.

hope this helps
