Initial conditions

Hey! What are the default initial conditions in a computational domain in CFX4 and how do you change them (twin-fluid case without heat transfer)?

Re: Initial conditions

Hi,
You can find out which are the default initial conditions when you run the setup (pre-process -> run setup)for your command file. Once you're there go at "Utilities" and switch at least to "Intermediate Level". Go to MODEL DATA -> SET INITIAL GUESS and you'll find the default values for the variables used in your problem.

Re: Initial conditions

Hi, If the ambient variables are set, does that influence the initial values in the domain or just outside?

Re: Initial conditions

If you set a constant guess, the ambient variables has not anything to do with the initial guess. I don't use to change these ambient variables, except pressure which I change it as necessary.

Re: Initial conditions

Hi, When I set the ambient variables, and not any initial guess, what happens then?

Re: Initial conditions

If you don't supply values such ambient variables and/or initial guesses(if you don't set any restart file), CFX-4 will use the default ones. To take a look at the default values you must go to setup and verify there what you want to know.
