Regarding Large Deflections in Two Way FSI
Hello Everyone,
I am working on Two Way FSI of a Flexible Body. I am unable to run the simulations of this flexible body due to large deformations. I have submitted few posts previously, some of you have given good suggestions and told me to go through documentation regarding Flexible body. I did and I tried but its not working. I don't know if the documentation which I am referring is valid for this case or not. Can anyone provide me any information or links or files regarding large deformations of a body and its FSI simulation, literally any information even if it slightly valuable for this case. It will be very helpful for me. Thank You. |
Is your problem on the CFD or on the structural side of the FSI?
If structural: maybe ask in an ANSYS Mechanical forum If CFD: is your problem related mesh deformation? If so, you can try changing mesh deformation control, or maybe give FLUENT's remeshing capabilities a try. |

Problem is in CFD. On structural side everything is alright. The problem is related to mesh deformation. When I run simulation using very stiff material there will be no errors. When I use flexible material which deforms largely, I cannot run the simulations. I used remeshing in Fluent but I was unable to get it run. My personal opinion is CFX is better for Two Way FSI, correct me if I am wrong. Can you tell me what is the problem. I will always get a error as | | | | The ANSYS CFX solver exited with return code 1. No results file | | has been created. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ End of solution stage. +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | An error has occurred in cfx5solve: | | | | ANSYS Solver terminated with return code 256 | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ I checked possible solution for this error, made the suggested changes but no results. Kindly help me if you can. |
