I am able to start cfx5pre in line mode. But i cant start ist with gui. cfx5pre -gr mesa doesn't work too... pls help. i am totally desperated. |
as far as I know, ubuntu is not supported by Ansys. You probably have to be happy that you can start it via command line.
You might have better luck with CentOS. I am running CFX 18.1 in CentOS 7 and it works quite well. |
Why support the most common linux distribution?
|
Ok. I installed centOS_1611 but cfxpre got the same error.

You tried to open a different model or some tutorial files in PRE, right?! I hope it's not just a problem with your model...
As far as I remember, I didn't have any problems with Ansys 17 on CentOS either but I'm doing pre- and postprocessing in Windows... I just openend PRE (18.1) in CentOS 7.3.1611 and it doesn't show an error. Do you have access to Ansys 18.1? I'm afraid I can't help you more here. I would recommend checking the Linux section of this board and contacting Ansys support. |
Yeah i installed ansys 18 and it worked. But i need to use ansys 17 on cluster. Now i write my .def files on a slow windows machine with 17. But now i can go on...
