CFX-Build 5.5.1
Hello,
I've found there are new options in the Build 5.5.1. They are "Low/Medium/High Intensity and Eddy Viscosity Ratio" under the BCs/inlet/turbulence. I'd like to ask what the meanings of those ratios are. And are they related to Large Eddy Simulation (LES)? Thanks for your help! Merry X'mas & Happy New Year! Nelson |
Re: CFX-Build 5.5.1
These are not related to LES at all. They are boundary conditions for the inlet turbulence levels. TI=Turbulent Intensity, EVR = Eddy viscosity ration (turbulent/molecular):
Low: TI=1%, EVR=1.0 Med: TI=5%, EVR=10.0 High: TI=10%, EVR=100.0 "Default" is different again. TKI=3.7% and the epsilon boundary condition depends on a local boundary length scale I think (look it up in the doc). Neale. |
