Re: Step function

Hi Jan! I also have met such problem, and posted it weeks ago. So please check the topic list in Index and you can find the answer there. The topic is "What does function step mean? ". I am sure you can find the satisfied answer. If you can't find it, I will copy it again as response to your question.

Re: Step function

Thanks Miko, I saw your posting and responses immediately after posting my query and this was very useful. But there was no explanation about what is this step function and how it works. just there was a step word written inside which is a expression. Can you tell me where I can read more about how this step function works. thanks in advance.

Re: Step function

step function is a 0-1 function, which means that y=step(x)=0 when x<0;y=1 when x>=0,one should notice that the independent variable x be dimensionless.

Re: Step function

Jan,

The step function is described on page 139 of the CFX Expression Language section of the documentation (see note at the end of the table).

You can also check out my description in Miko's thread at http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/cfx.cgi?read=5176.
