I am trying to open up a cfx db file in a directory, and I keep getting a message that the directory is empty and CFX will not run properly, what does it mean and how to solve it.

The error message is reporting that there are spaces in the name of the directory path. Some components have a problem with spaces, so replace them with underscores and you'll be fine.
