How i can to simulate the air flow over the car?
Hi i am mechanical engineer studnt from Argentina and i have to simulate the air flow over the car, aand i just get it the cfx version 5.6 ,i was seeing the tutorial but it s noclear for me. My model the race car is made in catia , and i dont know if modelate all car or only tha half. Waht about the whells ,i have to put on the floor? i have to enclose the car in a box, isnt it?

Re: How i can to simulate the air flow over the ca
Hi Fernando,
I would recommend doing a number of the tutorial examples, especially concentrating on the Ahmed body simulation example. This is the quickest way to get up to speed with CFX (without doing a CFX training course). As to issues regarding modelling wheels, symmetry planes, floor, domain size - do a literature search and you'll find zillions of references on the subject. Regards, Glenn |

Fernando, With CFd, always start simple, then work up. That goes for geometry as well as mesh sizes. You will get further faster this way ! Plus like Glenn said, work through the tutorials, even if they don't seam applicable, as they will teach you things that you will want to apply to your model in the future. Bob

Ups! I write in spanish I hope it doesn't matter! Well i'd like to know where iI can find literature about it. If you find it please, could you mail me? This is my mai:marcomelo"cantv.net.
