Default Multiphase non-Newtonian Flow

Hi there,

(CFX 5.6 User )

I am simulating a mixture of one continuous phase (water) and two dispersed solid phasees. Definitely the viscosity of the mixture is dependent on the concentration of two dispersed solid phases. It also is a function of shear rate. For simplicity, I want to try power law model first. But I can not understand how the viscosity of mixture is calculated in CFX particle model. In Fluid Detail, I have to assign the viscosity of both continuous phase and dispersed phase. If I tend to set the power law model for mixture, should I set it for continuous phase or dispersed phases because nowhere can the viscosity of the mixture be assigned in CFX 5.6.

Thank you in advance!

Jingo

dear Jingo for the cfd simulation reguarding the non newtonian fluids with the solid phase as a dispersed or the contineous phase , you can use the fluent software for cfd simulation since whatever the problem u r facing u can get it from fluent.

Hi Jingo,

The effective viscosity of the mixture will already vary due to the presence of the additional dispersed phases as a result of their momentum transport. Do you expect the viscosity of the individual phases to actually change?
