Mesh Extrusion in ICEM4CFX

Hi all, I tried to use the mesh extrusion available in ICEM-4-CFX. I meshed a part of my cylinder using the automatic way and created a part consiting on a face (disc). I then extruded the mesh and it worked fine; BUT when I try to export it in CFX-MESH I got a message saying that my extrusion can not be imported because it is combinaison of elements, faces and nodes.
Any suggestion? Thanks |

Hi Sasha,
You have to be careful the volume elements are in a different family to the shell elements. If a family contains both shell and volume elements it gives the error you mention. You may have to manually change the family of some shell or volume elements to fix this. You can do this by turning all geometry off, then you can select elements and manually change the family selected elements are associated with. Regards, Glenn |
