Patran Volume Meshing

Dear All,

I am a new user of CFX and the question may sound silly to you. I am sorry.

Is it possible to use Patran Volume Meshing Mode to create a structured grid on the following model (3D)?

The model is: A open channel (rectangular) with a circular inlet.

I have problem in creating a tri-parametric solid for my model. Is B-rep the only way for me to create a solid for my model?

Thank you.

Ting

Create a cylinder that runs through the square tank, starting at the inlet and continuing all the way through the model. Create it as with a 5-block structure, and then divide the tank into 6 sided blocks that match the cylinder. Then mesh using hexes using the Patran Volume Mesher.

Look at some old CFX-4 tutorials if you need help creating the block structures.
