Test, I tried what you said but it didn't work. I will be much appreciated if you can view my reply to my previous message. On the other hand new ideas from other members are welcome.
This is the problem: I used VNC to access my UNIX machine. But I anytime I want to run CFXpre or CFXpost, it freezes and displaying error message of :"Xlib extension GLIX is missing and will display my remote access UNIX macine, say," kka.cfx-vncunsolved.help". But just CFX5 command works though. Is only the GUI with more graphics that has problem. My local machine is PC-Windows based. Thanks alot in advance. |

Hi,
what the test is suggesting is what is in the manual and applies only to X clients like Exceed. Since you're using VNC, you don't need this. But the error message says, that you are missing some OpenGL compatability on the windows side. It means that the CFX is sending to VNC client on your win computer some instructions it does not know, how to handle. So installing Xserver on windows (Exceed in case of CFX) seems to be the option. It may be on the CFX install disks, ( I don't know, I'm not using windows at all). There used to be a variable-when set on SGI, no OpenGL instructions were used, but I don't think it would work in your case. Running VNC server on linux is not safe, anyway. I did not help much, though good luck. matej |

Don`t forget about Exceed3D, without it Pre and Post will not work on your local machine.

It seems your desktop/pseudo X server does not support OpenGL.
Have you tried using mesa instead of OpenGL? cfx5pre -graphics mesa or cfx5post -graphics mesa Hope it helps Juan Carlos |
