how to estimate the total cosuming time?

Hi everyone: For example, there are 1 million elements in my model, specifying 100 iterations.Could I estimate the total calculating time?

did you want to calculate automatically?

Re: how to estimate the total cosuming time?

Hi,

It is not possible to give a calculation time for simulations in general. It depends on the physical models used, the computer used to do the simulation, and also the flow itself. A flow with no recirculations will converge quickly, a flow with lots of recirculations will converge slowly.

The only way of estimating CPU time is through experience or similar runs.

However, in general steady state runs of the size you are talking about can be solved in a few hours as long as they are properly set up. No guarantees, however, as it is impossible to be more precise without knowing the details of the simulation.

Or, for steady state case we can estimate maximal time by running case and watch for time taken for one step and multiply by number of steps...
