External Gear Pump - CEL expression query

2 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,
Currently, I'm working on the project related to External gear pump in CFX using Immersed Solid Method. Subsequently, I preferred to validate the model of Yoon et al. (2014) [Attachment 1]. Yoon's model has been designed and resolved by CFX. However, during post-processing - I face the difficulty while interpolating my result with Yoon's model[Attachment 1 - Fig. 8].

Attachment 2 will give an overall view.

The calculated Angular velocity during simulation [obtained from pre-processing] is multiplied with time and 180/pi to give an angular rotation of GEARS in degree (X –axis in the graph). However, this CEL expression fails to fit my curve result with Yoon's model.

Query: In need of appropriate CEL expression to calculate the rotation of GEARS in degrees as prescribed in Yoon's paper on Fig. 8 – in order to replicate the figure for validation.

Thank you ^^

The fact that your results are changing as you change the time step size shows that your time step size is too coarse. You need to refine it until it converges - this is called a sensitivity study. After doing a time step size sensitivity study you should do a sensitivity study on convergence criteria and mesh size as well. This is standard practise for all new simulations.

Does "Euler Angle X" (or Y or Z) work to get your rotation angle?

What are you using for Momentum Source Scaling Factor ?
