IGES files in CAD2Mesh
Hi
Could someone suggest me the best possible way to import IGES files (generated by erstwhile Build 4.4) to CAD2Mesh? Cheers, Prash |
Re: IGES files in CAD2Mesh
Open Design Modeler (via ANSYS Workbench). You have access to this via your CAD2MESH license. Go to File->Import Geometry File-> browse for your IGES file.

Re: IGES files in CAD2Mesh
Many thanks Derrek for the prompt reply!
We have infact done this but the machine simply slips into a 'thinking' mode and never gets back. Are we missing out something here? Cheers, Prash |
Re: IGES files in CAD2Mesh
IGES comes in many flavors, do you have any choices in the version of IGES to export? Also, how big is the IGES file? I have seen cases where the IGES file is very large and takes awhile to import. How long do you wait to allow the computer to "think"?

Re: IGES files in CAD2Mesh
Hi again Derrek,
I waited for two hours. I also guessed that it might be the size which a little more than 25MB ... I am in the process of reducing it by removing surfaces etc from the IGES file ... Cheers, Prash |
Re: IGES files in CAD2Mesh
You can check your IGES file by viewing the file in the program Acitfy SpinfirePro 2004 to see whether the exported file is correct or not. You can download a trial at http://www.actify.com/v2/products/SF...onal/index.htm
