Just use File->Import->Mesh->CFX (We use old interface of ICEM 5.0). It works...

Hi,

To add to deLuther's comment, you can import a mesh but cannot import a geometry. The underlying geometry is not contained in the mesh file so it is lost.

But someone can use Transfer mesh->facets(old interface) to make geometry from mesh(and repairing of surfaces to make curves, points...)... So it is posible remesh your domain.

In new interface edit--facets==mesh then clicking on surface, instead of BC,(patches)then you can retain your original surfaces.

Hi,

Yes, you can convert meshed faces to geometry faces, however the surface will be facetted. The original smooth surface is lost. This is not generally a problem if you wish to generate a mesh coarser than the imported mesh or if the mesh is fine enough to not be significantly facetted. Whether this is a problem depends on what you are trying to do.

I use icem 4 for cfx, it can do like that, first, form cfx5.7 you get the file of *.def then in icem you can import->mesh->cfx, you can get the mesh and solid together. try it.

Thankx, for all who have given their valueable advice. The problem , here with me is sort of a tricky one, i can not mesh my model, in cfx 5.6 as its a complex model i.e a submarine, so, i want to export the model in the ICEM, and then mesh it. Please help me in exporting the model from cfx .6 to ICEM, or help me meshing the model.... regards,

Salman.
