Hi fiends,

I want to know whether the ICEM CFD, software for mesh generation, can be used without loading the Ansys Workbench?

Can somebody tell me wether i can use ICEM for mesh generation like CFX 5.6 Build which i am using presently? Do we need to have different settings to ICEM?

With regards Tuks

What OS you're referring to? We use ICEM 5.1 without workbench as we're running it on SGI. Refer to your installation manual for details. It shouldn't be a problem. I think if you type icemcfd under your ICEM directory, you should be able to load it straight away.

hi. it's easy i always use ICEM without workbench. workbench needs different modules to work like icem, cfx, etc but icem can work without that.

I use ICEM CFD Hexa without the workbench (thank God, the workbench crashes on me if I do a little bit out of the ordinary).
