Hello all, for a tank containing gas phase and liquid phase:

Gasphase = Water vapor + Oxygen gas, and Liquid phase = Liquid water + Liquid oxygen.

The system is in the dynamic equilibrium state. As we all know, there exist some relations between the mass fractions of components in the two phases, for example,

Mass fraction of vapor = f(mass fraction of water in liquid phase).

If we solve the transport equations for the mass fractions of components in the gas phase, then we don't need to solve the transport equations for mass fractions of components in the liquid phase. That's because the mass fractions of components in the liquid phase can be derived from the equilibrium relations. Is that right?

Kind regards,

Sherry
