Default can cfx solve turbulance of rotorcraft blades?

hii everbody, I want to know if cfx is true program for turbulance analysis of helicopter blades.it is mine graduate work and I wonder how much useful other programs such as fluent or star cd-cfd.have a nice days.

Hi,

It all comes down to what turbulence model you want to use. CFX comes with a good choice of models for this type of application, for instance the SST (shear stress transport model, a derivative of the k-omega turbulence model) is likely to be good for general analysis; and for more advanced analysis CFX also has a turbulence transition and DES (detached eddy simulation) models which could be useful depending on whether your blades have a turbulence transition or large seperations.

I am sure you will find StarCD and Fluent also have similar features, I am not familiar with them so cannot comment. Arrange a trial of the codes and go with the one which works best for you.

fluent 6.2 has somethign called virtual balde modelling ..they use it for helicoptors, you can have a look at that too.
