Hi guys (especially to Glenn) After meshing in ICEM CFD 5, a part named ORFN automatically comes in part list. I am not able to understand this ORFN thing??? Any of u faced this problem. Any how what this ORFN actually means?

Hi,
It is discussed in the documentation. Every geometry and mesh body in ICEM is part of a family. ORFN is the family given to mesh elements not inside the geometry and are removed as part of the Octree meshing process. Usually there will be nothing in this family. Don't worry about it. It's just left over from the octree meshing process and should not have anything to do with your final mesh. Glenn Horrocks |

ORFN (a.k.a. orphan) ....as in, if it doesn't belong to any of your families (now called parts) it's an ORFN.
