Surface in CFX-Mesh

Is there anyway to mesh a surface object (not a solid) in a volume within CFX-Mesh?

Hi,

What are you trying to do?

Re: Surface in CFX-Mesh

We are trying to simulate a spinnaker as a surface so that it has no thickness. In the past we have used Fluent/Gambit for the simulation and now we are trying to setup the same parameter in CFX. Unfortunately the only meshing software we currently have access to is CFX-Mesh.

Hi,

Yes, you can do that. There are a number of ways to do it. I think a tutorial example shows how to make a thin surface in CFX-Mesh. An alternative method is to make two seperate solids, joined through the spinnaker. In CFX-Pre you define the surfaces as walls.
