When using CFD-Post (v.16.2) to load result of a *.dat file (the associated *.cas file is in the same folder), I received a warning as follows:

"No solution history was found for the selected file [file-name].dat. ANSYS CFD-Post has searched the directory [folder-path] for files that might be associated with the selected file.
ANSYS CFD-Post has constructed a solution history from the following files: [file-list]"

After closing this warning, I checked the time variables in the "Expressions" tab and found that they were wrong for the loaded *.dat file. The loaded *.dat file was for 'time step'=2050 (corresponding to 'time'=0.0683 seconds), while the values shown in the "Expressions" tab were 'time step'=3025 and 'Time'=0.10083. Moreover, the 'time' and 'time step' in the "Expressions" tabs were the same for all the *.dat files with different time steps I tried to load. I could plot the vortex generation, but because the time step was shown incorrectly, I doubt that the plotted vortex was wrong.

I used CFD-Post for several studies with no problem, and this is the first time I experienced this error. It is really a puzzle to me. Is there anyone experience the same problem as mine? Could you please give some ideas why this error occurs? Your ideas are really appreciated.

Gert-Jan will become famous soon enough
Since you have .dat files, you use Fluent. So better ask in the Fluent forum

Hello auloan,

I'm facing the same problem, did you find how to solve it ?
