Hi, This Reddy. If i want to simulate the Hypersonic aircraft with Hypersonic speed(M > 5), is it possible to do the simulation????

Hi,

Do you want to include hypersonic physics, such as dissociation?

Hi,

CFX5 cannot current model dissociation. You will need a specialised hypersonics CFD code for that. It can model shocks and other compressible flow features which is OK up to Mach 3 to 5 depending on the fluid.

Reddy, If you want to simulate things over mach 5, good luck. I have found this very unstable and mesh sensitive. And believe me, i tried almost everything, in the documentation, forums, and customer support. This is not the tool for hypersonic calculations. regards
