Not enough memory...

I have about 7000000 cells in domain and 2GB RAM on PC with dual proc. Earlier I tried to count 5000000 cells with success, but now CFX refuse to start processing, because there are not enough memory. Please tell me how to handle with this?

Re: Not enough memory...

Hi,

I never work with such large meshes, but if CFX worked with 5M cells and it doesn't with 7M, and it is complaining now that there isn't enough memory, it seems you have reached the memory limit. But I think what limits the memory isn't the number of cells, but the (number of nodes)*(the number of variables), that is the total number of incognits.Take a look at this Technical Tip from the CFX-Community web site: http://www-waterloo.ansys.com/commun...B-3A1371123FFE

How to handle this? If you aren't sure you've reached the memory limit, contact CFX support. If you've reached the memory limit, run your simulation in parallel.
