CFX5.7 to Tecplot8
 

Dear All,

I know how to convert result files to CGNS using CFX solver manger.But I have tecplot older version(tecplot 8) which is not supporting any of the format which CFX5.7 is exporting.So, please let me know if anybody can help me in this regard.

Hi Pradeep,

Have you set the environment variable CFX5_EXPORT_CGNS_TECPLOT=1 ?? If not, amend it and try exporting the file again.

Thanks paul Tecplot8 is supporting only following formats to import PLOT3D Loader Excel Loader Text spreadsheet loader Gridgen loader HDF loader DEM loader DXF loader It can't import CGNS format files, so please let me know how to get those formatted files, which can be imported Tecplot8 , please also let me know, how to set environment variable CFX5_EXPORT_CGNS_TECPLOT=1 Thanks for your time Regards

Hi Pradeep,

As far as I know Tecplot8 did support CGNS format but it required downloading an add-on. See this old copy of contours magazine: http://www.tecplot.com/showcase/cont.../article02.htm

To set the environment variable if you're using windows goto Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables, if you're using linux/unix then you can set it manually or add it to your profile as required.

Thanks for information.I found source code which can convert from CGNS to plot3d.I hope I can compile that code to convert CGNS to plot3d.
