Some questions about working in Ansys

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Everyone!

I have some questions about Ansys:
1) Can I work in Ansys table like in Excel? For example, what should I write in B32 cell to calculate it as =B31*(B28-B29)
2) In my work i have pipe counter heat exchager. I want to caclucale the total heat, which is transfered from hot water to cold through the pipe. To do this I've calculated the average heat flux through the pipe interface and multiply it to its area. But can I calculate it in one step? I didn't find corresponding function.
3) What should I do to change the temperature unit [K] to [C]? I changed it in the “variables” window, so the results in the chart (for example) are displayed in [C], but [K] still remains in the table

To answer two of your questions:

1) Yes and no. Have a play with it and you will quickly see its limitations. To my knowledge you cannot reference other cells, but only expressions, variables, locations etc. To achieve what you want instead write something like =massflowinlet*(enthalpyinlet-enthalpyoutlet) if you are using expressions. Otherwise the full expression using functions.

3)You can edit the units by going Edit/Options/Units in CFD Post, or changing your solution units before the solve in CFX Pre. E.g. change these in your .ccl:
FLOW: Flow Analysis 1
SOLUTION UNITS:
Angle Units = [rad]
Length Units = [m]
Mass Units = [kg]
Solid Angle Units = [sr]
Temperature Units = [K]
Time Units = [s]
END

Thank you for advice!
But in Edit/Options/Units in CFD Post there is no choice between [C] and [K]. Just only [K]

Almost there!
You simply need to change the system from SI units to 'custom' to allow the temperature unit to be in degrees Celsius.

Oh, exactly. But in chart it's still remaning [K] :D

Strange. For me it automatically updates when I hit Apply/OK. Try right clicking 'Chart 1' in the outline and selecting refresh preview. If that still doesn't work, I would export the data as a csv and change it manually.

File/Export/Export...

You can also change the units at the Variables Tab.

Yes, I mentioned above about it. Nonetheless units haven't change in the Table, although it works for all others (for the countours and for the Charts)

Thank you)

I confused Table with Chart. In the Chart it works, but in the table units haven't changed
