CFX 5 Domain Interfaces

Hello,

I am trying to model something involving both a hydrocarbon gas and air. I made my first domain the gas and the second air. When trying to create a domain interface I get multiple error messages. How do I do this properly? Do I make the air inlets openings in the first domain or leave them as part of the default? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: CFX 5 Domain Interfaces

I reckon that will hav no effect.Your interface will be fluid-fluid interface.I cannot give you more suggestions unless you let us know what error messages you get.

Thanks Rajit

Re: CFX 5 Domain Interfaces

I guess, you must have defined two different fluids for two different domains. That creates errors.

As solution to this, you need to define a common variable component mixture in material section that contains both your fluids, air & HC.

Use that mixture as fluid for both domains. For air domain make mass / volume fraction air equal to one & the same of HC equal to zero. Similarly, for HC domain make mass / volume fraction air equal to zero & the same of HC equal to one.

This may solve errors those you are getting.

Hope this helps.
