How to switch of Timestepping Information

Hi,

I have just installed CFX 10.0 and have run the same a transient simulation def.file as used before in v5.7.1 from scratch. An additional information appears now before each time step in the CFX-Solver Output File, telling me the "Timestepping Information" for the RMS Courant Number. I know this is needed for the Adaptive Time Step option which I, however, do not use. Does anybody know, if this RMS Courant Number calculation and the output in the output file can be switched off?

Thanks Tobias

Hi,

What is the point of turning it off? If you don't need the information then ignore it.

Re: How to switch off Timestepping Information

Hello Glenn,

Thanks for replying. Well, this information did not appear in the older Versions (e.g. v5.7.1) and I am wondering, if this is now generally shown because of the additionally included time adaption option, or if this information only appears in the ouput file because of a mistake I've possibly made in my parameter settings.

Regards

The information is there to help you! If you are conducting the transient simulation correctly, you should be satisfying the courant requirements for transient simulation even in CFX-5.7.1. At least this output saves you having to calculate the courant number manually or in CFX-post.

Understanding your comments correctly, the plot of the Courant number in the output file is now a fixed part in v10.0? If it's so, thanks for your help and advice. TobiasZ

Yeah, its just a new feature which they have added. Before you had to calculate this manulally.
