CENTRIFUGAL FAN

hi thanks

I AM GIVING TOTAL PRESSURE AT INLET AND MASS FLOW RATE AT OUTLET. BUT WHEN I CHANGE MASS FLOW RATE , TORQUE IS CHANGE ,

SO PLZ GUIDE ME FOR OUTLET BOUNDARY CONDITION.

Re: CENTRIFUGAL FAN

Why do you think torque should not change when you change mass flow rate?

HI

I AM TALKING ABOUT TORQUE OF FAN. I WANT TO KNOW EFFECT OF VARIOUS MASS FLOW WITH PRESSURE. WITH MAINTAING SAME TORQUE, AS WE ARE NOT CHANGING THE MOTOR..

GUIDE ME....

Re: CENTRIFUGAL FAN

Do you change fan rotating speed? Bascially, if fan speed is not changed while mass flow rate is changed, fan will work at another point on fan curve. In this case, I don't know how you can maintain same torque. If you change both fan speed and mass flow rate, fan will jump to another fan curve. Then there is possbility that you can maintain same torque by adjusting fan rotating speed.

Re: CENTRIFUGAL FAN

hi,

fan torque is proportional to (massflowrate * pressure rise across the machine). If above quantity increases then torque increases. please check your calculation.
