Hi,

I would be very apreciate that somebody could give me some advices on my questions. I'm not too sure about the limitation of the maximum element number for 2D and 3D model.

My 3D model has about 1.9 million elements and it simulated well in CFX. But my 2D model just has about 0.8 million element number and it always crash with not enough computational memory. All the grids are created in CFX-Mesh.

However, someone told me before the model should not be beyong 2 million elements is alright. But, why i've the memory problem in 2D model then?

Thanks

Hi,

CFX is a nore based solver, not an element based solver. The number of nodes is a more meaningful measure of the size of a simulation than number of elements.

How many cells do you have in z-direction? I suggest to use only one cell.
