In designModeler, There is a option--3-D curves. What is it used for. Is it possible we use it to generate blade profile?

Hi,

In my view, if your blade has a curved shape it would be easier to use a third party CAD tool (eg. solidworks).

Best regards!

I have to agree... I spent hours trying to generate a blade profile (NACA 0012) using 3d curves. In the end I used solidworks and imported it into design modeller as a step file, taking all of 15 minutes!

But I do not know how to use solid work. Is it easy to learn?

Workbench is still at its earlier development. Don't think it's a good substitute for CAD at this stage. I don't use it at all.

what type of format you savs as using solid work. I currently using PRO-E to generate the curve and save them as IGES and SAT. The importing to CFX is OK; but once i get to meshing, CFX keep giving me warning that I should redo the geometry due to poor parmetization, small internal angle etc. Please help.
