That is not possible.. Files are backwards compatible only.. You are trying to do upward compatibility...

What is in 5.7 that ANSYS CFX 10.0 cannot do?

Good luck.. Opaque.

what kind of error are you getting? If you have interfaces between the domains you may get error. If that is the case redefine them.

Re: CFX 10 in CFX 5.7

hello,

actually i want to know what differnts making in results between CFX 10 and 5.7 solver for multiphase flow simulation, for that i have created def files in CFX 10, but i am not including any advanced models, that which are not available in cfx 5.7 ,

if i run cfx 10 def file in cfx 5.7, i am getting error, for eg , i am not include the kinetic theroy of granular flow of multiphase flow in cfx 10,and when i was running that def file in cfx 5.7 , the error showing in terms of kinetic theroy, what it mean

thanks

with regards panneer

Create your simulation in 5.7 and not in 10.0. Then both versions can handle this and you can compare the results.

Hi,

As Stone says you will need to recreate the simulation in CFX 5.7. The CFX10 gtm file (mesh file) should transfer over so you should not need to remesh.

error's most likely caused by CCL command that doesn't exist in older version. If you know those parameters, just delete them and it should work fine then.
