ACOUSTICS FOR TURBOMACHINERY

Hi, I am currently having a problem in evaluating the aero noise level and how I can use the CFX xoftware to my problem.

I have designed an axial blower and I have performed the normal analysis and I got pretty good results which I can validate with the test results. But at the same I need to simulate the aero noise level prediction which i need to meet the experimental values. So please get me how I can use CFX in my case.

This depends on your needs. Do you want to calculate tone or broadband noise? Do you compare near- or far-field noise? To estimate blade tone, an URANS may be enough. However, for broadband noise, if you want to get it from first-principle approach, you'd better go with LES or DES. All those options are available in CFX.

Hi Longbow, I want to calculate only near field noise and I hav etried this option whih you have explained but still I am not able to match with the test results where I am able to match the same with other softwares. How I can fully utilise the CFX software for this pparticuly problem.
