hi there, my geometry includes about 150 points and 6 curves and 4 surfaces. and to create it is very tiring using " create explicit point" in icem. how to crate it using that formmatted point data feature in import geometry in file menu.anyone can send me an example file any advice.

regards

If you know exactly the location of each point, try recording a few steps while you are creating the points manually. The command will be recorded on the recorder and you can start working from there. However, I find it particularly hard to do this way when there's larger tolerance in your cad file and geometry is needed to be repaired in ICEM. Meshing always takes up 90% of the CFD labour time. The rest is pretty automatic anyway. Good luck.

hi TB, firstly i thank you for your advice. but i did not understand fully that "the command will be recorded on the recorder" what do you mean that saying "recorder". do you mean message window or replay script function? could you clarify it ?

I have about 150 points these include 2d naca0012 points and domain points and 6 curve for wing. and i want to make a text file for this points and curves. how to do that?

regards

There's an option called "Replay Script" under "File" menu. Click on "Recording Scripts" and you will see what I mean here when you start creating a curve.
