ERROR #004100018

I am simulating a axial pump. I break the pump into 3 part and use frozen rotor for interface. I get this error in solver. What causes it?

ERROR #004100018 has occurred in subroutine FINMES. | | Message: | | Fatal overflow in linear solver.

Re: ERROR #004100018

I think it could be the mesh or the timestep. Otherwise you can increase the solver memory allocation factor in the Define run panel. That worked for me. You have to activate the advanced controls of the define run panel. then you will see solver panel, and there is the memory allocation factor

Re: ERROR #004100018

Hi Richard,

It can be due to few reasons,

The mesh is coarse. Due to inappropriate intial conditions.

Thanks Regards Rajit

Re: ERROR #004100018

I agree with Rajit. It is mainly because of the setup of your simulation. Mainly on the boundary and initial conditions.

Thank for the reply.i am using the most robust set up. mass flow inlet and average pressure outlet and upwind scheme. what else can go wrong. Please guide me.
