Dear friends,
Is it possible to open multiple windows in CFX-post simultaneously and define a figure like attached file ?

Yes. CFD-Post can handle multiple views. I don't think it likes three across like that, it prefers 2x2 grid but hopefully that's close enough.

you can create your plots/vectors at the planes you desire then Apply a Transformation in the View tab for the vector plot. This will just shift the plot in space, align as needed.

In fact I mean multiple runs and not multiple sections of one file for example we want to compare the effect of Re number and we have obtained the solution for Re=1, 100, 1000 and we want to compare the a contour for these Re numbers in one view.

If I understood you well you have 3 .res files which you want to compare right?

If it is so you can Open Post and then load all three files by checking the option "Keep current cases loaded" in the load results files window.
As default the option "Open in new view" is checked, so that you will obtain a view for each case in one window.

The only problem remaining is as glenn already mentionned, that CFX Post only creates 2x2 grids of views and does not offer the option of having an unpair number of views of the same size.

For each view you will be able to select timesteps (in case of transient runs) or set separate visualisation options. Or if you want to have all views with the same options there is a button on the viewing tools toolbar (where u have all the tools for zooming, rotating etc.) in CFX Post called "synchronize visibility" wich will let all stuff like vectors, contour plots etc. appaer in all views simultaniously. With "synchronize camera" You will be able to have the same angle of view and zoomfactor in all views.

Is this what you were asking?

I checked, it does work and solve my problem, but is there any way to overcome 2*2 grid problem ?

Not as far as I know.
The Only "Workaround" would be to take the view with one large view in the upper half and two small in the lower half or vertically oriented left and right insteadt of upper and lower.
This would be usefull if you could say you have one "main case" which I would display in the large view then and two Variations of this case which I would display in the smaller views.

Glad I could help you!

I think another way for post process more than 4 windows is to export results with CGNS format to tecplot software.

Load one file and open the "Load results" again. Check "keep current cases loaded" and uncheck "open in new view" before you load the second file. Then just apply translation on one of the cases. Now you have two results in one view. Repeat for more files.

If you load two cases in the same view you will e.g. have one called "name"_001 and one "name_002". Double click on "name_002" and check Apply Translation and move the second results file a bit so they dont overlap.
monkey1 and agustinnie like this.
