modelling a fan
Hello, i want to model an induction fan into a big room. I only know the airvelocity it has to produce. I can do two things: 1: use expressions for the momentum source, a big number for the mom.source coefficient and force the velocity in the subdomain to be choosen one. 2: Just use a constant value for the momentum source. But now i don't exactly know how i must choose the right value for the mom.source coefficent.
Another question is about the rhie chow options. In the manual they say that is used to model a fan but i don't understand exactly what this all means. Can someone help me with this? Thnx Richard |
Re: modelling a fan
Not sure if I understand correctly, but if you know the velocity it has to produce why not just use a velocity based inlet?

Re: modelling a fan
It is not possible to model it as an inlet because it has to simulate the distribution of polluted air in the room. So it must be a subdomain. But i think i allready have a pretty good working simulation now. Thanks for the help, Richard
