Animation from CFX

Hi,

One can make an animation on CFD-Post using the results files (timestep, etc).

I am wondering if I can make an animation using CFX as the simulation is running. For example, Fluent does this by saving HSF files per timestep/iteration.

Is there such a way to do this in CFX?

You can write transient results files as the simulation progresses and process those while it runs if you like. But it is not automated like Fluent.

If you write a backup file at say timestep 100, then you can open this in CFD-Post. By default this backup only recognizes the .trn-files before its own time value. But I think (I am not sure) you can add .trn-files to the list. This should allow you to see how the calculation propagates after the backup.

But no, it is not automated. And this is only possible if you have a license to do solving and postprocessing at the same time. Because you need to have them open together.
