Default CFX mesh format

Dear CFX community...

I'd like to export nodes, elements, inlet/outlets info directly to CFX as I already have the volumetric mesh (tets/hexes). I'm interested in writing a mesh file to allow import into CFX and was wondering if anyone could point me at some ressources that describe the format...

Alternatively, I would also be interested in converting Fluent or Ansys meshes into CFX readable files...

Thanks!

Dear Viet,

Instead of writing to a proprietary format, you are better off writing the mesh into a generic format such as CGNS which can be read by CFX-Pre already. Then, all your converters will write similar format which could also be used by other software packages.

If you look through the documentation, there is mention of an mesh import API which you should use if you want CFX-Pre to read "your mesh format"...

Good luck, Opaque..

Dear Opaque,

Thanks a lot for pointing me at the CGNS format, I've only had a quick look but it does look promising!

I see your point regarding export to proprietary formats and agree that CGNS looks like the perfect answer to my problem...

Thanks again!
