multi fluid domains with differ. physical charact.

hi

i have been trying to model an automotive radiator. one domain is the air flowing through the radiator, the second is the aluminium radiator and the last domain is the water inside the radiator however when i create the water domain it changes the air domain to water as well. CFX help menu says to do the following:

Inconsistent physics between separate domains is supported in ANSYS CFX by setting the environment variable CFX5_NO_CONSTANT_PHYSICS to any value before starting ANSYS CFX-Pre. This will result in no checking for consistent physics across separate domains by ANSYS CFX-Pre.

does anyone know how this is done?

any help would be appreciated

john

I had your problem some days ago.

You have to set the variable CFX5_NO_CONSTANT_PHISYCS:

Open "windows control panel"-->System-->Advanced-->Environmental variables (downstairs at the centre of the window)-->New(in "System variable")-->Variable name: CFX5_NO_CONSTANT_PHYSICS-->Variable value:T. (Remember: don't forghet the dot)-->Close and restart windows.

I hope you understand, I am Italian and my English is not perfect.

Good job.

Bye.

But you shouldn't have this kind of problem if you have 3 separate domains (for example for CHT symulation: for example air-solid soild-water as for your radiator), but I am not sure.

Hower, set the variable and you won't have any problem.

Bye
